Susan Jarvis FAcSS is Co-Director of the Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice and Place at the University of Liverpool. She has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in local and regional government, with expertise spanning policy development, public service reform, regional devolution, economic development, regeneration and skills. She has played a significant role in shaping place-based policy across Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester.
Susan leads on civic engagement and strategic partnerships at the Heseltine Institute, connecting academic research with local and regional policy priorities. She is an academic adviser to the Liverpool City Region All Party Parliamentary Group and serves in advisory roles supporting public service innovation and strategic investment in the region. She is an elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Place Fellow for the UKRI-funded Local Policy Innovation Partnership Hub.
