Prof. Peter Tyler
Emeritus Professor of Urban and Regional Economics, University of Cambridge
Professor Peter Tyler is Emeritus Professor of Urban and Regional Economics in the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge and an Emeritus Professorial Fellow and former President of St Catharine’s College. He has extensive expertise in urban and regional economics, economic development and the evaluation of public policy, having directed over 70 major research projects for government.
Peter has advised HM Government, the European Commission, OECD and UN-Habitat on urban, regional, industrial and evaluation policy. His research has covered local labour and property markets, innovation, economic restructuring, infrastructure and place-based economic development. He is a Policy Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Science and Policy and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, with recent research including work on Levelling Up, the economic performance of British cities and the economic impacts of major research and innovation campuses.
